Good PR move for Google.

Did anyone read the esssey by Issaic Asimov (it can be found in As Far As the Human Eye Could See) where he said that in the future we could have giant dishes in space that would concentrate sunlight to beam down to earth onto fields of solar panels. Thus getting many many times the amount of enegry you'd get with conventional sunlight?

that's a good theory, but scientifcally, it could go wrong in so many ways. imagine if it was off by just a little; towns would get burnt to a crisp.

about the google thing; it's a very good move in terms of PR, as mentioned above, but it won't make a large impact. More effective would've been funding research to make energy generation methods more effective.
