Hi everyone,

I am planning on installing Ubuntu this week (waiting till I get a new HD first), after quite a few years since the last time I used Linux and was browsing the desktop thread out of curiosity on how other people organise their desktop. So I stumbled across these two shots, where CPU and RAM usage, as well as other stats appear on the desktop (top-right part of screen):

Out of curiosity, how can I do that? I like it and plan to do the same once I actually install Ubuntu.

You can also use a program called conky that is in the repos.

Or gdesklets when using GNOME or XFCE, superkaramba or whatever it's called now is the equivalent for this concerning KDE.

It's conky. It even shows up as one of the processes on the process table. gkrellm is decent, conky is cool too. superkaramba wastes way too much of everything :(. (and this coming from a kde lover)
