Looking for tutorials and examples of accessing the async serial comm ports from C. Ultimately I want to communicate with an external device, collect data from it, and store the data in a MySQL database. I've done all this on a Win32 platform using VB 6 and SQL Server. Need to migrate things to Ubuntu Linux.

Thanks!

Hello,

Browse to this (opportunities... (http://home.online.no/%7Eosmoma/opportunities.html)) page and locate "Going serial" and "Serial lib".

You may want to use the serial c library in your project.

Take a look at this - it should get you started:

I am doing something similar on my Sun server.
