I don't know if this counts, but I like throwing yellow post-it notes all over my Gnome desktop, gcalculator to keep my checking account in the black, and dictionary to keep me from conphusing you guys here.

Are the post it notes real paper, or an app?

Ooops! There's an app for that? I would definitely save on Windex that way.

If you really didn't know that Gnome had those things, they're really nice and handy (just like a regular post it note). I'm not on Ubuntu/Gnome right now but I believe it's either a plugin or under the accessories (?) menu.

/edit Here's a screenshot (http://loban.caltech.edu/stickynotes/) I found on the net.

I must admit, Gnome is as foreign to me as a refrigerator to an eskimo. I actually prefer the XFCE calendar notes. I haven't tried the recipe manager app you talked about yet, but I will fill it up quickly from that other thread running around here somewhere. Find me a Gnome app that copies/pastes entire forum threads into a recipe manager, then we're cookin'...

There's a good place to start for gnome apps. :)

(p.s. if the recipe manager could just pull in posts and make recipes out of them, don't you think I would have already done it and told you all how to do it too? heh.)

Gnome clipboard deamon is one of the smallest, most useful apps to me.
