Like in MS word when you are correcting a document that someone else has given you, you can make edits and they can be visualized nicely by the person on the other end. I have a document that I want to edit for someone and I'm looking for a good tool to do it in.

What kind of things do you want to do to it? OOo can't do it?

openoffice writer has a feature, its called 'compare document'. its in the edit menu. just open the first file and then click compare, it will prompt for the next file to compare it to.

edit: sorry I didnt read your post properly. Cant you just change the text colour, or use the highlighter?

OpenOffice supports revisions ("track changes") just like MS Office. It can even open MS Office documents, and the change tracking will work normally.

OK, it's under Edit -> Changes -> Record. Wicked.
