I've bought some programming books via amazon, and would like to add to the order. So, what Linux textbooks are worth buying? are there any books with info that applies to all distros?

Robert Love's Linux Kernel Development is a great book to help you understand how Linux works. I reccomend it for anyone who wants to know more. Also , Ubuntu Hacks is good.

Believe it or not, The Linux Certification manual circa: 2001 from O'Reily is very good for an all-round reference to a complete Linux.

How Linux Works by Brian Ward from No Starch Press is pretty good. You pretty much guess what it is about. It covers different topics e.g. networking things, how the kernels works and things. Not in serious detail obviously, as each of these topics could easily fill a book by the selves.
