I was thinking of ways to support ubuntu and I found myself in the official store thinking about buying a coffee cup.

Well it got me to thinking that if ubuntu had some sort of computer hardware there I would no doubt snatch it up as it would likely work great in ubuntu.

Wouldn't it be nice if we could support the project and get some nice hardware at the same time? :)

There is a line of computers that come with Ubuntu installed by default:

Too bad they're Intel-only. Otherwise I'd be considering them for my next laptop.

Josey perhaps you could send a letter to hardware makers for ubuntu certification and point them towards the hardware certification that goes on at OSDL perhaps?

It's one way to get them involved by asking them directly that you notice their support is poor for linux and thus you've bought something else.
