View Full Version : Has anyone noticed a major speed increase with Ubuntu EdgyEft Beta?

My bootup speeds, and everything else I have tried so far have a substantional speed increase of atleast 3-5x!
Was worth the update to beta, as this speed is a nice treat :D.

Well, I can't say 3-5x - But my bootup-time is like 50% faster!

Edgy is nice!

Breezy: 2-3 minutes
Dapper: 1 minute
Edgy: 20 seconds.

Yes it is noticeably faster not even necessary to measure it, and how fast is it going to be if we start tinkering with it. :twisted:

I also noticed a great increase in usage speed. And the cpu frequency is now correctly modified after yesterday's release.

Boot speed definitely struck me as a bit fast when I booted up not long ago. Woot? =D

Now, if only I could get Conky to not steal focus every few seconds. Grr!
