I'm going to the Ohio LinuxFest tomorrow, and I'm looking for some good Linux podcasts to listen to on the way(4 hour ride there, 4 hours back). I'm downloading episode 15 of the UbuntuOS podcast right now, but I'm hoping to find more, so please recommend some good ones.
Thanks,
Jordan Montgomery

some of my favorites are....
"The Linux Link Tech Show"
"Linux Reality"

I'm so jealous, I'm in denver, and I can't justify going all the way out there for a two day show. Have fun.

Linux Links Tech Show sounds pretty cool, and I'll have to visit them at the LinuxFest this year too. I'm downloading episodes 159 and 158 right now. I'm gonna check Linux Reality later when I get done downloading these.
Thanks,
Jordan Montgomery

Floss weekly (open source) and TWiT (not open source) on twit.tv are pretty good

LUGRadio - Although it is tiring to hear them go on and on about Ubuntu and how great it is, I'd like more tech. Releases regularly which is good, also they absolute best episodes were the 30 mins ones they did every day at GUADEC.. That being said they are good guys even if their show tends to run off in the Ubuntu cheerleadering camp far to often leaving the actual content on the floor in favor of namecalling and a huge amount of chin.

Novell OpenAudio - I really like Ted, he's a fantastic bloke but the podcast is a bit to much NOVELL WOOHOOO!! and there's not enough focus on the Technology and the community. In Teds defence the recent episodes have been much better and it's now starting to be my favorite Linux Podcast.

Linux Questions Podcast - Haven't listened to this one much, mainly seems to be news and community stuff, very good from my casual listening but very short.

The Linux Link Tech Show - These guys are starting to annoy me, they get their facts wrong (nonexistant research I suspect), the bodily humour is not fun past the first 5 mins and they have no idea on how to conduct an interview both a strenght and a weakness as you don't get that OpenAudio feel where they know the answers in advance so it's not so much an interview as a conversation.. for some guests it works for others it doesn't. Basically I listen to this one if there's a guest on I want to hear, I skip 99% of the banter as it's just "OMFG I just got this new thingy... does it run Slackware??.. Dan farts a lot"

Port 25 - Microsofts open source labs pod/vodcast not strictly Linux but occasionally they have some great guests on, download the shows you care about skip the rest. They don't even advocate Microsoft software much so don't be put off by that.

FLOSS weekly - The Free Libre Open Source Software podcast from Leo Laport and Chris DiBonna. Good guests, good quality, good content but still I can't seem to get around to liking it.. I don't know what it is about the TWIT podcasts that throws me off.. It just doesn't feel right, a bit short as well.

Security Now! - Also a TWIT podcast, not strictly Linux but it deals to Linux and Open Source in the realm of security and sometimes there's good content pretaining to Linux, occasionally Steve Gibson spreads untruths about Linux security though. Good for getting a grasp on the basics of security just ignore the lies and the tinfoil hat stuff. One of my favorites especially the QA episodes are good fun.

Many people miss the point of TLLTS. It is for those who appreciate it, obviously not for those who don't. I personally enjoy the banter as well as their interview style - yes, it could use more polish, and could use a hell of a lot of work in the "how to avoid absurd lag/drop-out in voip" department, but it is what it is. If you want a rapid fire show of the latest breaking news where all of the f-ups and flubs have been edited out, maybe it isn't for you. If you dig the warmth and honesty of a group of friends discussing topics with guests in a laid back "Friends talking tech over a few cold ones" fashion, maybe it is. Personally, I think it's a great show. I also think they get a *lot* more out of their guests than many shows do.

They are the Callahan's Crosstime Saloon of their genre, IMO.

I actually listened to TLLTS on the way up to OLF today, and it was awesome. I actually got to meet the people that make TLLTS at OLF so we talked, laughed, whatever, I even got one of their stickers, which was pretty cool. I've got TONS of free stuff from people like Fedora, SuSE, Freespire, even Sun, and I'm gonna try to get a pic to upload to flickr or something tomorrow of all the stuff(2 bags full actually.)

I realize that the OLF is over now, so the original issue of the thread is a little moot at this point. But, I just wanted to backup Snarkout's comments regarding TLLTS. I find it a great show that gets some really cool guests (jono bacon, judd vinet, amarok devs, etc.) You do need to deal with a *live* show where technical difficulties are less than rare. For some reason, listening to a loose show about friends talking about linux and other things is just entertaining...

Other podcasts I'd recommend include:
The Linux Action Show (very good): http://www.linuxactionshow.com/
The Lotta Linux Links Podcast: http://lottalinuxlinks.com/
Linux Reality (already mentioned): http://www.linuxreality.com

And one about Java:
The Java Posse: http://javaposse.com/

Linux Reality has already been mentioned a couple times. It is a really good show for new users.

Two more that I enjoy:
The GNU/Linux User Show: http://linuxuser.thepodcastnetwork.com/
This show is currently on hold as they need new hosts. All 28 episodes are still available for download.

The hosts for that show, Jon and Kelly have gone on to make their own show, the Jak Attack, which is quite good:

All 31 episodes are available for download on Jon's webpage.
