Well,
Recently I bought the domain
www.ubuntu.co.in
and presently am running forums on it...
The site is not contructed fully tho..

I have dedicated the website for Indians..
and our goal is to help Ubuntu reach
every nook and cranny of India..
as India has immense potential with
OSs..

Leave ur comments here..and try to suggest ways
as to how this can be achieved..

thnks

Have you gotten permission to do this? I think the Ubuntu CE guy was told off initially by Canonical for using the logo, or not using the logo, or something like that. I think you should definately let Canonical know your intentions.

Sorry if my criticism was a little brute and straightforward, two days? That was quick work:KS keep up the good work!

It's just that "under construction" sites never seem to get out of that stage (although yours seem to be going fine) and I think u shouldnt launch something that isnt ready.

Good luck spreading the word in India! :)

Heh, there's more than one "native" language. :D

Anyway, some Hindi couldn't hurt.

Btw, now with Project Connect, I help
people interested in creating a localised site, by offering free
webspace, a subdomain and lots more. The site is much
more complete now. I've learnt a hell lot from it.

All the best, it seems you are running the show on your own? Anyway I strongly believe that if ever Linux has to become the main stream desktop OS, it has to start with countries like India and China.

India not only has large number of potential Linux users but also people who have the ability to contribute towards the development of Linux. And since it’s also common in these countries (and most of the developing countries) to use the pirated Windows, they have a good reason to switch to Linux.

yep.. thats true.. therez lots of piracy here man..
We just can't afford Windows.

And, yes, I'm running it entirely on my own..
