Check out QCad, you can find it on synaptic.

that is only a trial product right. I see on there site that the product is not a free product

Yeah, it looks like trial version --> pay for premium.

There is a GPL'd community version there though.

I've seen this complaint everywhere (lack of CAD software), but to be honest I didn't even know what it was.

I can see why this piece of software would be so important to some users, though not most..

Can anyone recommend a good, unified GPL CAD app to play around with? There seem to be a ton of apps for specific tasks and work, but few that are more unified (general purpose drafting).. :confused:

Ive always wanted to learn a CAD program. My dad has a 100 thousand dollar CNC machine so i could essentialy make anything (if i knew how to design it) . Talk about making custom pc's :D
