View Full Version : Need help on RAID5 on Ubuntu

September 17th, 2006, 03:46 AM
I want to set up a Ubuntu with 3 harddisk using raid 5 (with or without LVM). I tried config in many differnet ways, but I get the following error:

Error informing the kernal about modifications to partition
/dev/md/0p1 -- invalid argument. This means Linux won't know about any changes you made to /dev/md/0p1 untill you reboot -- so you shouldn't mount it or use it in any way before rebooting.

I ignore the message and start install...

Then I get the another error when install boot loader. I ignore one more time. Finally the system can not stat :(
Plesae show me step-by-step (especially only when setup partition) how to install raid5 on ubuntu.

(I saw a version of someone written in Germany, but I can't understand. What more, that guide not the same scenario in my case)

Thanks in advance
