Kuartet (http://kuartetdesktop.sourceforge.net/) is a KDE app using Superkaramba to make a KDE environment look like an improved Mezzo desktop (http://fak3r.com/2006/01/31/howto-mezzo-desktop-on-ubuntu/). I just stumbled across it by accident, and think this is great - especially since, in contrast to Mezzo, you can actually customize the desktop, a thing I've found rather difficult in Mezzo. It is easy to use, you hardly need to open a menu at all because it's all there on your desktop already (if you choose to install the manager app, that is. That's the great thing about it - you can choose which parts you want to use). For us lazy people, this is a dream come true... and, seriously, would you ever believe that this screenshot (http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c72/Minyaliel/kde-1.png) shows a common Kubuntu installation? (In comparison, this (http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c72/Minyaliel/Mezzo2.png) is Mezzo)

Looks nice!

Not sure how well it all works in reality, but worth a try.
Seems easier to deal with than Enlightenment, and the default theme looks a lot nicer...

Well, it works as far as I'm concerned - I love the fact that my Kubuntu looks just like a working (and bug- free!) version of Mezzo :) The KDE screenshot is from my own laptop, so I have proof ;) After a little tweaking and being creative when it comes to how to hide the default menu bar in KDE (since it wouldn't let itself be removed fully) it's up and going.
