Hi,
watching at my current desktop everything looks quite fine and consistent except the icons:-( No matter which icon set I choose (differs between Human, Tango, Tango Original, Industrial and GNOME), all of them feel a little bit out of place, unprofessional, childish ... I'm lacking the right adjective to exactly describe the overall experience. Same holds for M$ Windows. Mac OSX is somewhat better but the interface seems a little cluttered to me.
In any case, I would prefer an icon design that is targeted toward the "adult" ( no flamewar please:) ), professional user. Perhaps a little bit similar to the NextStep/OpenStep (http://www.operating-system.org/betriebssystem/bsgfx/apple/nextstep-01-scr-.jpg)-Design.
What's your opinion about the current Linux desktop icon design!?
Cheers,
Thomas
