hello,

I am looking for somebody who can give my brother in law a hand in reconnecting his Ubuntu box to the internet again. He lives in Ilan, Taiwan with his wife and 2 kids.

I live in Holland so arms are somewhat too short to help him and the internet isn't working so I cannot access his box.

I hope somebody out there can help me, ehm, him

Have you tried this: www.ubuntu.org.tw : Ubuntu forum in Taiwan. There are many experts ready to answer questions and help newbies. Or you can try www.ilc.edu.tw, Center for Information Education and Networking, Ilan, Taiwan

If your brother in law is a beginner of Linux and really needs physical helps, I'd like to suggest him to ask aids from computer teachers of local elementary (or junior high) school or some community computer classes. If he is a little experienced in Ubuntu Linux, he can find solutions from webs, that would be easier (re-connecting to the Internet might not be a big problem, but it depends)

Here are some webs about freeware in Ilan, Taiwan that may be helpful.

Sorry, I live in New York State and I cannot help too much.

Good luck! I can expect that free software will flourish soon in Taiwan.
