Dark Side of the Rainbow (The Wizard of Floyd)

If you listen to Dark Side of the Moon while watching The Wizard of Oz theres quite a few coincidences. We were talking about it in science class today. I'm not sure exactly how we got into that conversation but someone mentioned Pink Floyd and than someone else said that if you play Oz and DSTOM together it acts as a sort of music video.

Anyway you can either watch it on Google Video or you can follow the Wikipedia instructions to get it synched right. If you are useing another video site other than the one I linked below make sure that the album plays through two full times and up to the track Great Gig in the Sky on the third. Some of the other versions I was looking at only play once through and than just cut off in the middle of the movie.

David Gilmour confirmed that they had no intention to make DSotM in coincidence with the scenes from The Wizard of Oz. I read it somewhere on the net, I can't remember the address, however he motivated saying something like "a man with probably too much time on their hand could have thought of that, we never wanted to make any connections with the movie." There's also the Wikipedia article, apparently missinformed too.

Being a huge fan of the Floyds I had heard of this coincidence a few years ago, but no Floyd ever confirmed it was meant.
Still, it's one (more) good reason to listen to the Dark Side... :rolleyes:
