If You are an experienced Windows Admin, you could start withSteve Shah's "Linux Administration, a beginners guide" from Network Professional's Library. It doesn't cover everything, but is a good start for understanding. You could also check Synaptic under Documentation. You would be surprised what breadth of Docs you can download.
