Songbird is an iTunes-like, Gecko-using music player. Just took a look at my Klik RSS feed and noticed that Songbird was now available for download. It works okay, imported my collection in a split second and plays it fine (it's an Ogg Vorbis collection) but some of the id3 tags weren't imported, sadly.

Klik packages are not actually installed and won't mess up your system. For a description on how to use Klik, see the correct section of the How to install anything in Ubuntu (http://monkeyblog.org/ubuntu/installing) tutorial.

Songbird is available from this Klik recipe: http://songbird.klik.atekon.de/

Hm, it seems id3 tags aren't imported at first, but rather are gathered in as a side process while you listen to your music. If you wait long enough it should be completely updated.

Crashed on me twenty seconds into a song. This applicaton hasnt really progressed at all in the few months it has been around.

I recommend using the latest nightly build. Although the crash bugs are still there, they seem to occur considerably less often.

I initally had no interest in trying out a XUL-based iTunes clone, but my dissatisfaction with every other audio player on Linux might compel me to try this at some point.
