LUKS has had its day. It served it's purpose, and that was to provide encryption at a time when there were no good encryption methods available. But VeryCrypt is MUCH better now. It lacks the ability to encrypt a Linux boot volume, but that is fixable. Making VeraCrypt do that would be much easier than making LUKS do all the things that VeraCrypt can do that LUKS can't, such as hidden volumes.
Snap is CRAP. FlatPak is MUCH better. Ubuntu should ditch Snap ASAP.
