Mandriva 2007 beta 3 (http://www.mandriva.com/company/press/pr/the_third_beta_version_of_mandriva_linux_2007_tyr_ has_been_released) was released and it has out-of-the-box support for XGL and AIGLX, and its own tool to configure them. It also has its own VPN tool, something sorely missed in Ubuntu :(

Not only is XGL and AIGLX supported right out of the box, but their graphical hardware manager configured my wireless card, with WPA !!, and it worked flawlessly immediately. Impressive!

Also, they have the kernel patch that finds my CD drive: I have an Intel 965 motherboard with the Marvell IDE controller. Ubuntu won't have that patch until the next release 6 months from now. So, until then the Ubuntu installation CD's don't work for me.

Unfortunately Mandriva uses the RPM package manager, and their theme looks uglier than Ubuntu's, if that's possible.:)
