Whenever i startup my laptop, i see a misconfigured homescreen. I have to login to tty3 and restart gnome in order to get it back working.
Pls. see screen attached...
localhost: uname -a
Linux dara-HP-Stream-Laptop-11-y0XX 5.15.0-56-generic #62-Ubuntu SMP Tue Nov 22 19:54:14 UTC 2022 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux
localhost: cat /etc/X11/default-display-manager
/usr/sbin/lightdm
I know I'm using X, not wayland but apart from that I can't find anything in /proc to give more details.
I've reinstalled gnome, no luck there...

That button in the lower left corner looks a lot like the XFCE menu button. Could it be that you have XFCE installed in addition to Gnome and the system is starting up with that ?

localhost: cat /etc/X11/default-display-manager
/usr/sbin/lightdm
Gnome requires gdm3 display manager.
lightdm is installed with Xubuntu.

Thanks, guys. More info.
I wrote gnome_restrart to basically - restart gnome and reset the display.

Right. Thanks.
So, what should I do to fix my GUI?

i've asked on StackOverflow and they've sent me to AskUbuntu, guys.
If someone could point me in the right direction, that'd be great! A link, perhaps?
