I'm trying to download the latest version of Lubuntu. When I click on the link I get a 404 error. It's trying to point me to the below URL, but it's not working.

http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/lubuntu/releases/19.04/release/lubuntu-19.04-desktop-amd64.iso

Hello and welcome to UF.

The link you posted is for an END OF LIFE version and has been removed from the server.
Here is a link to the current versions. https://lubuntu.me/downloads/

Thanks! It's weird that if I just go to the main lubuntu page and choose the download links that's where it takes me. Is there any way to contact whoever runs the webpage to ask them to point to the more recent versions?

Is this the site you went to? https://lubuntu.net/

This is not the official site. The link posted by me is the official one.

At the top of any Ubuntu Forums page is a drop-down menu called 'Ubuntu Community', this contains links to all official currently supported versions.

Development versions are found elsewhere.

Ah, I see. That's unfortunate that the top google result is not the official site.

Lubuntu is unfortunately plagued by a cybersquatter, lub&&tu.net. Ampersands to prevent generating Google hits.
Always go through ubuntu.com to get to the right place.

Cheers.

You need to peruse google results when you use it; it offers up the legitimate site yes, but also a fan site, plus others too if you ask in certain non-english languages.

Ubuntu, Lubuntu, nor Canonical control that web site (.net) so we have no control over it.

If you're trying to find a legitimate Ubuntu flavor site in future, don't ask google - but go to ubuntu.com and search there - you get to https://ubuntu.com/download/flavours which will send you to the official flavor sites for all flavors, not just Lubuntu.

Also FYI: If you were using ublock origin as an extension; you would have been warned that you were going to a risky/fake site.
