Would anyone be interested in trying to start up a BitTorrent tracker for all things OSS. Music, videos, Linux distributions, and DEB and RPM packages can all be submitted and tracked. (Music and videos will have to be in an open source codec...)

If anyone is interested, please let me know. We can discuss the details once we get a team together.

Why would you want OSS software? Aren't we all hoping OSS would just die and everything would move to ALSA so we can all hear more than one sound at once...

EDIT: MEMO TO SELF; READ POSTS PROPERLY!!! ](*,)

I'm just going to assume that you were being sarcastic.

OSS = Open source software ≠ Open Sound System

](*,) oops... moment of total stupidity, i saw music, videos etc. and read for music videos etc. Meaning OSS(open sound system) music/video software.

Anyway, sounds like an excellent idea. There's some really good music released under various free licences.

Have you looked into legaltorrents.com? It's mostly CC-licensed stuff.

I have, but I don't like the fact that a lot of it is not of open source formats. I would like to setup a site where new Linux users can head to to get listening to music, videos, and look at other open source software.
