display suddenly huge

My display has suddenly gotten huge. I am running with an acer a231h monitor. I have had it for a long time and it is, I think, fine. I have been able to reduce my basic firefox screen by using the ^+- to control that but my top bar remains so big I can't see a lot of it. I have tried to fix it with my monitor setting but it allows only 1024x768 The monitor is also set for VGA

I finally got this fixed. I turned off the machine and turned it back on. This changed my options for size. I changed my size to 1920x1080 which did the trick. I have no idea what happened. I will set this as solved.
