I like the design overall but the header text is a little blurry and you could have picked a more interesting font for it. Also some color would be nice but the black and white look was done well. I may be able to provide some imaging tutorials or whatever. The grey box on the right looks really empty. Also the header seems to be a bit taller than the table its next to at the top.

I'd be happy to help moderate forums and provide help in the live chat.
Maybe when I finish my LPI exam I can help teach as well.

Wow this thread has exploded in the past two days. I was busy putting together a new computer for a friend (took 2 days of troubleshooting, very tricky install).

cafelinux.org works fine from Finland, tried all the links.

I'd be happy to help by typing up some material! I don't know about live classes I'm not really... a people person :o. I'm losing my Only laptop do to some faulty repairs fro mthe Dell Facility for like 10 ish days... whenever the box comes. LCD trouble. Granted I'm pretty young, but I know my stuff! I handle alot of posts in the Newbeh forum in my free time. So if anything comes up that happens to be in my skill range I'm always looking to help out with something that makes Ubuntu that much more reachable!

simply put cafelinux.org is still here:

http://cafelinux.org/

cafelinux.org is just going through a reconstructionist period...keep an eye out for changes to come...

Development of certain projects are active...just erase all that you have known in the past...

...and start with a clean slate.

Thats all I can say for now.

Jozef

(any further discussion on this subject matter should be taken up directly with me, simply PM me here or e-mail me at jozef@cafeubuntu.com)

This thread will be closed as per me, to avoid any further complications or misunderstanding & merging to original thread.

Since I am the sole founder, developer, and financial benefactor to cafelinux.org it is appropiate that any inquires be directed to me directly in the future, again email me: jozef@cafeubuntu.com

Thank You,
Jozef;)

*Thread reopened and cleaned up(post merged, post titles edited, etc., etc.)...

Cafe Linux has always remained open, yet a bit dormant as I decided which direction to take it...

Since I volunteer here pretty much full time as a moderator and also volunteer at sabayonlinux.org...I have little free time...

I also co-admin along with macogw (http://www.ubuntuforums.org/member.php?u=137631) and Brunellus (http://www.ubuntuforums.org/member.php?u=9506), the Regional LoCo team: NU Ubuntu Team (Northeastern United States Ubuntu Local Community Team), which our prime directive is to help cultivate other LoCo teams within our region on the State, city and Borough level...facilitating an effective network within our region of Ubuntu users...and essential Ubuntu LoCo Teams

Also we love to host UUG (ubuntu User Group) meet ups where we can have either good coffee and food our both.
our next Meet Up is this Friday 02/23/2007 at the Love cafe on U St. in Washington DC. We plan to have an install/food fest at Max's in Silver Spring, Maryland also...for Schwarma (http://dictionary.reference.com/go/http://www.reference.com/search?r=13&q=Schwarma), Falafel (http://dictionary.reference.com/go/http://www.reference.com/search?r=13&q=Falafel) and Ubuntu. See future NU Ubuntu Team meet ups here:
http://www.ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=325971

Our LoCo team forum can be found here:
http://www.ubuntuforums.org/forumdisplay.php?f=190

with this on my plate and working full time and devoting most of my time to loving my wife I realistically have little time for much else...

Including some of the lofty goals I had formally undertaken with the Cafe Linux projects....thus redefinition was inevitable.

Here is the 3 fold focus of Cafe Linux at the current moment and time:

1. Cafe Linux homepage
http://www.cafelinux.org/
http://img411.imageshack.us/img411/6241/newsabayon36wx0.th.png (http://img411.imageshack.us/my.php?image=newsabayon36wx0.png)
(basic homepage with little maintenance required)

2. Home page for the NU Ubuntu Team
http://www.cafelinux.org/nubuntuteam/
http://img406.imageshack.us/img406/2007/newsabayon37bp7.th.png (http://img406.imageshack.us/my.php?image=newsabayon37bp7.png)
(again basic homepage with little maintenance required)

The forums for the NU Ubuntu Team will always remain here at ubuntuforums.org (well as long as Ubuntu-Geek is gracious enough to host the LoCo Team sub-forums here; Thank You Ubuntu-Geek, as always your help has contributed greatly to our little regional team; to help grow other LoCo teams within our region. The members and Admins. of the NU Ubuntu Team thank you...for helping us to grow more Ubuntu LoCo teams within our region both on the state and city levels,....our success is greatly attributed to your success.)

3. Cafe Linux Forum
http://www.cafelinux.org/forum/
http://img411.imageshack.us/img411/4735/newsabayon35sz8.th.png (http://img411.imageshack.us/my.php?image=newsabayon35sz8.png)
(Ok I can hear you now,...not another forum!)
well yes another forum but with a bit different directive:

The following quote may help to contribute understanding of what the new forum is about, but the important thing is that we not limit reality through definitions, much the same way is the Cafe Linux Forum:

What? Is this just a random forum? :)well....ummmm.......Yes much like the "Random canned meat" I bought the other day at Trader Joe's...that some said may have been replicating canned Tuna but was canned chunk Chicken and chunk Turkey, which was essentially better then Tuna....so with this analogy if all Forums are like canned Tuna, then this forum is like "Random Canned Meat". ;) *BUT NOT SPAM*

about Cafe Linux Forums over all....

I plan; and invite others to use this forum more as a place to post interesting stuff on whatever subject of interest, use this more as an interactive blog, the post and user boards are more of a place for a tight knit group of Linux users and friends to post stuff....if anybody wants a new board just PM me....

Also as you can tell there is much more beyond Linux or open source here, ex: The Age of Aquarist forum, a chemistry structure board....this is a place where users can post helpful things that they can easily reference to at any given moment in time.....this can be on any subject matter that exist...limited only to your own thought process

A light hearted sort of whimsical place, our goal is not to achieve a high numbers of random users but more of a place where close friends can come and hang out a bit...

I plan to post informative threads of personal interest and such, NOT with the goal of a attracting great numbers of members but more so where guest my find some help on any given subject that I and the member base post (if they choose to)...
Ok thats about it for now....for the basic direction of Cafe Linux.

As always I hope it remains dynamic and ever changing and that stagnation doesn't settle in....in the mean while stop by say, Hi! and I hope you find something enjoyable or interesting...

The forum is new but here are a few interesting threads I have started:

Home Grown Animiated Gifs GIMP style (http://cafelinux.org/forum/index.php/topic,21.0.html)

Beaufortia kweichowensis~Butterfly Loaches (http://cafelinux.org/forum/index.php/topic,20.0.html)

Many changes have been transitioned through....was using the English Steel theme but I have returned to the default SMF theme....since many mods work without customization....

Please take a look and tell me what you think overall

great news is that the cafelinux forum is attracting a nice members base, of devs (like cvill the x co-lead of Sabayon), and rather cool users overall....I am honored by all that have joined...

registration is set to invitation only, I am going more for a high quality member base instead of a high quantity member base, and it eliminates most cases of spam, that and the garbledurl mod which will garble urls if less then 10 post are made...

anyway take a look,....
