I have installed 20.04 to try out after Ubuntu 18.04.

I see that the J-Pilot app is no longer available. Unfortunately, I still use J-Pilot to sync contacts, calendar & tasks with my phone!

Is there any way to request that J-Pilot be included in the software library?

I see no updates for years in some cases , perhaps you could contact the developer. You could try installing via tar.gz. because the .deb package has been removed from the download page the last version being compatible with 14.04.
