Google Trends: The Best Linux Distro

I love Ubuntu, and I do believe that it's the "best" distro out there, but listening to what Google Trends tells you can be dangerous.

google trends is pretty relative... try to see what you get by typing: microsoft and linux (LINK (http://www.google.com/trends?q=microsoft%2C+linux&ctab=0&geo=all&date=all))
and what you get with windows and linux (LINK (http://www.google.com/trends?q=windows%2C+linux&ctab=0&geo=all&date=all))
edit anyway... I firmly believe that Ubuntu is best!

Well, actually you help make my point HanZo :) Microsoft and Windows are both more popular than Linux, but not by enough to show the marketshare or popularity on the desktop.

Also, try replacing "linux" with Ubuntu and it shows that Microsoft and Windows are FAR more popular than Ubuntu.

Yet, still, many more people use Windows than Ubuntu, but not enough to show the marketshare reliably.

That's what I'm saying, it's very unreliable when measuring quality or userbase, only what's being searched for.

Actually, his name is Пётр Ильич Чайкoвский. With an i in the end is not incorrect, just a different transliteration canon (it depends form the country where you live in).

Ubuntu is most searched in Indonesia and not a single english country is on that list. Canonical should rethink their business strategies as its obvious most users belong there, why would they be searching ubuntu if it wasn't known?

Second, Solaris is not a Linux distro.

Third, popular, most searched, or most well known != best.
