View Full Version : [ubuntu] 20.04 LTS not fully upgraded (my guess)

I was waiting for 20.04.1 LTS release to upgrade my laptop that was running 18.04 LTS and I did it last week. I had a problem in the upgrde process and there was probably something not upgraded, because even when there's nothing left to upgrade, there are some things that look just like in 18.04 and some of them look between a new and an old desktop. For example, I have Nemo and Files working at the same time. The menu and settings looks like in 18.04 and there are icons, and themes missing...

Everything works almost fine, but I think the visual part is not well upgraded... How can I reinstall or force a desktop re-configuration?

By the way, I come from 16.04, maybe is time for a fresh install?

Thanks in advance :)

The failure could be related to snap theming. Are the apps with the old theme snaps?

I learned a loooong time ago that upgrades rarely work well, if at all. Save your stuff and do a clean install and work from there.

I don't know how to find that out :(

"snap list" will show which apps are installed as snaps.

Are those the apps that look like in 18.04? If not, then the problem is not in the snap app themes.
