View Full Version : [SOLVED] Snap newly open window/file/folder to extreme left regardless of dock hidden/shown

Hello Ubuntu Community,

Just wanted to know if there is any way to always open files/folders/windows snapped to the extreme left/right, regardless of the dock being hidden/shown.

For example: When there is a window already opened and a folder or new file is open, it will snap, but not to extreme left. It defaults to snapping with the border of the dock, which is not the extreme left, even with the dock set to autohide.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks!

One useful tool for positioning desktop windows is x-tile (https://www.giuspen.com/x-tile/). Not sure about left dock since I am in gnome-flashback session and use docky placed at bottom.

I fixed it with dash-to-panel extension. Amazing extension!
