I'm running Ubuntu 20.04.1 LTS as a home server.
I generally don't need to log into it, so I only leave an old keyboard plugged in and no mouse for the odd occasion I need to check something via the terminal.
Usually I can hit enter on the keyboard and then type in my user password. However about half the time that does not do anything when I hit enter (or any other key) and I have to go and find a mouse (a usb one) to plug in to click on my username - the keyboard then works.
What's wrong and how do I fix it?
