Hi, when switching to icon view in Nautilus, I can no longer select multiple files via Ctrl-Right Click (with mouse or touchpad) for non sequential individual selection or Shift-Right Click for sequential group selection.

Is there a way to enable this feature in icon view?
It works as expected in list view.

I’m currently on Ubuntu 20.04

Thanks

I use Ctrl+left click, not right click to select single files one by one, or shift in place of Ctrl to select a group.

I've never used right click for that, though my system is set to single click to activate, not double click; perhaps that makes a difference.

Hi ajgreeny, thanks for your reply!
Sorry, yes Left click. It is possible to set wither button in the settings.
This, "I use Ctrl+left click, not right click to select single files one by one, or shift in place of Ctrl to select a group.", also works for me BUT only when I'm viewing files in list view. It doesn't work in icon view which is what I would like.
Say for example I take a 100 photos over the weekend and I wish to delete 50 of them. I have to to it one by one in the icon view, (I can select 50 different non sequential files in list view but I can't see what the photos are, pointless), but I need to be in icon view so I can see what each file is a photo of.
Thanks
Lex

In Icon view I can use ctrl or shift right click or ctrl or shift double left click. But it works either way in list or icon view.
