I've been working through multiple Ubuntu 20 LTS installation issues.

Currently the biggest problem is that my dash search isn't working: so I can't find (let alone open) any programs that are not in my launcher. I'd greatly appreciate some help fixing the issues with U20's installation issues.

Nobody here works for Canonical. Best to open a separate bug report for each issue, after checking the bug DB for duplicates. If you find a duplicate, often there are work-arounds listed. And if you are impacted - in the bug system, adding a "me too" will help move it up in the priority.
