Hi,

I bought an Asus Vivobook laptop a few days ago (AMD 4700U with Vega 7) and installed Xubuntu 20.04 in dual boot with windows. After some issues with brightness that led me to update the kernel to mainline (5.7), everything was working fine for a couple of days, until it started to give me a blank screen randomly, where the only way out was to force a reboot. After doing that twice, it started blanking even earlier, on boot (after the grub) in any operating system (Xubuntu, in recovery, older kernels, and Windows). Occasionally the computer boots fine up to the login screen or even beyond, then blanks out. I don't see any trigger or commonality.

On the few occasions where it didn't blank out but instead gave me some console lines, this is what I got, where it either blanks out or just freezes. Sometimes it will also reboot on its own. I have no idea what any of this means:

Can anyone help me figure this out?

If same problem occurs on Linux and Windows, very good chance of it being a hardware problem instead of software. If bought new, would take it back. One error mentions clock so might just need a new cmos battery, but I might be very wrong about that.
