Hi, I'm having a rather annoying issue. When I update a newly installed Ubuntu 20.04, via the system update tool or the apt command - gnome crashes, continues to run in the background.

Upon booting when the apt/dpkg process is no longer running I'm unable to login to the system from GDM.

I've reinstalled Ubuntu 3 times, and it happens every time.

Running 'sudo xinit' works perfectly, unfortunately it's basic gnome with out any Ubuntu bloat.

How can I find out what the error is and solve this?
