Hi all,

I am posting here because for a number of years I have tried to install and use Ubuntu on my HP ENVY Notebook - 15-ah100na for a number of years. I bought the laptop refurbished a number of years ago as a student and I have been having issues with multiple versions (16.04, 18.04, 19.10 and 20.04) and install attempts over time using my AMD Radeon APU based laptop - sometimes I can get it going with boot parameters (acpi=off/strict, nouveau.modeset=0, radeon.modeset=0, nomodeset) but cannot replicate this reliably or have issue with WiFi drivers or face kernel panic. I am now done my college degree and can move away from Windows based programs for personal use and have purchase a new Dell Inspiron 15 laptop and I can install on that with no issue - ideally I am looking up to setting up my old AMD laptop as a home network server with a few small applications with a view to moving to Ubuntu as a primary OS for everything - however I am at my wits end with it at the moment.

Many thanks in advance for any help
