View Full Version : [SOLVED] 20.04 missing mount.nfs and mount.cifs

Hi,

I've just completed a new 20.04 install, pretty much got everything working including Apache with no problems. Went to mount the shares from my NAS only to find that both mount.cifs and mount.nfs helper apps are missing. Looking through synaptic package list I found and installed the nfs client shared library and can now mount the NFS shares. libsmbclient was already installed but I still cannot mount CIFS share - the mount command complains that the helper app is missing.

Is there another package I have to install, or am I missing something?

Never mind - found it - cifs-utils. Don't recall having to install these on 16.04LTS, I think they were there by default.

Mount.cifs is provided by the cifs-utils package.

Thanks - you must have been typing the same time as I was updating my post to say I'd found it. I'm sure both those packages were installed by default in 16.04LTS.
