I downloaded the ISO file for Ubuntu 20.04 LTS Desktop and did an image burn to disk.
When I put the disk in and boot to it, and select Install Ubuntu, I get this error message:

/casper/vrmlinuz file not found

How do I fix this?

How did you "burn" the ISO?

I used ImgBurn Version 2.5.8.0

So you're using a DVD? Why are you doing that in 2020? Is your computer so old it can't boot from USB?
And, AFAIK, ImgBurn is a terribly old software and now bundled with malware from all sides. Any currently supported Windows versions have native ability to burn images.

The error message you mention means bad burn, hence my question, because it's so rare nowadays.

It is an old computer and also I'm just used to working with disks.

I installed Rufus 3.10 and made a bootable USB, I'll see if that works.

Edit: Installing from USB worked.
