I don't know if this question is in the right section if not mods please put it in the right place. Anyways, I would like to know how can you hide the top bar like you could in previous versions of Ubuntu?

Welcome.

If the question is specific to a desktop environment then this is the right subsection.
That said, I never heard of such possibility. Which Ubuntu release where you running before and what method were you using to achieve it?

You can as that's how I had it in Ubuntu 18.04. The Ubuntu Software store had it but when I checked to see if it were available for 20.04 sadly it's not there. The Gnome shell scripts out now only support up to 19.10 but not 20.04.

This is what I'm referring to http://ubuntuhandbook.org/index.php/2019/12/auto-hide-top-panel-ubuntu-18-04-19-10/
