My computer is currently running Ubuntu 16.04 with I3 window manager.
While it functions as a Desktop machine. It also functions as a Samba server for the house and has ssh server running on it so I can remotely login.
home is on a separate partition from all others.
My plan is to do a fresh install of Ubuntu 20.04 leaving the existing home partition in place.
My question is would it be better/easier to install Ubuntu server, than install xorg, then I3, and finally my applications or install something light weight like Lubuntu than go from there?
Thanks in advance.
