strange gmail.com problem

when i send email to my gmail.com address (from elsewhere) it isn't showing up. this has been a problem for a few hours. when i send email from my gmail.com address to that other address, it gets there quickly. when i reply from there back to gmail.com, the reply ends up in my gmail.com inbox. this is rather strange. anyone else having problems with gmail.com?

I would look into the "from elsewhere" and see if it's all in line. Gmail's filtering algos can be strange at times. There are a few items that prevent Gmail from receiving email from a given address - if the sending server doesn't have DKIM set up properly, for example.

the problem went away about an hour later. i guess someone at google fixed whatever was doing that, which was clearly not a hard outage.
