have Ubuntu 18.04 LTS installed with Thunderbird Mail Client. For several problems to clone mail data from W10 I temporarily uninstalled (using the Ubuntu/Gnome Software Installer) TB and later installed again using same tool. All the mails work fine but TB complains every day about missing superuser rights to update its version while the firefox browser seems to do this well. There is even no dialog in TB to start the update manually or to enter the password. What is intended workflow for TB updates from rep using CI/CD feature ?

Strange, because afaik neither Thunderbird nor Firefox, when installed using software center, should do this - I never experienced this. Both the regular APT versions as snap versions would automatically update along with the regular system updates, not from within the app. I also do not find any option in my regular Firefox install to eventually prompt for updates - there is only an option to automatically update the search engines.
