Acer laptop with Windows 10 and Ubuntu set up for dual-boot. Upgrades have gone smoothly over the years but now the laptop will only boot into Ubuntu after upgrading to 19.10
The windows options are still visible in Grub2 but have no effect - screen just returns to GRUB2 after selecting Windows.
Grub repair has been run (more than once) and the windows option is detected - the menu is rebuilt with windows as an option - but on selecting Windows the screen goes blank (briefly) then returns to GRUB2 menu.
Ubuntu (obviously) boot successfully but none of the other options work.
