I have Ubuntu Server 16.04 installed on a quad boot system (two Windows 10 and two Ubuntu Server installations). My GRUB system on the Server 16.04 installation works perfectly. What is the best way to upgrade to Server 18.04 while preserving the GRUB setup? As I see it, I have two choices: (1) Update using command line commands or in Server 16.04 or (2) Installing 18.04 from the Server install DVD into the Server 16.04 partition (hoping that the GRUB system will not be changed during the installation). It took considerable effort to get GRUB to work in my quad-boot system and I don't want to have it destroyed. I wish Server 18.04 had GRUB multiboot capability built in. To prepare for the upgrade, I used Clonezilla to backup my Server 16.04 partition. If there is a third choice I don't know about, please let me know.
