I'm running 18.04 on Lenovo B560 with an Intel i3 processor; architecture is i686, and CPU op-modes are 32 and 64 bit. Problems began when I was told that 'you do not have permission' to install 18.10. I'm stubborn and a good example of 'a little knowledge can be dangerous', so in trying to force 18.10 things went awry. Now, when I try to load 18.10 I get the message 'apt architecture is i386'. Every attempt to do a new clean install fails.
How do I fix this ?
