Unresponsive admins

Hi,
I'm not entirely sure if this is the right place but it seems as good as any.
I'm looking for some advice.

I've been trying to contact an admin for a project on launchpad for a while. The project (gweled) seems pretty dead and I want to contribute some changes.
Having not being able to contact anyone associated with the project, I'm a bit stuck how to proceed.

I know it's not that rare for projects to be abandoned.
What do people do in this kind of situation?.

Hmmm, yes I see that.
However, I have tried to contact the admin to no avail. It is the summer season, so they may be on holiday or busy.
It's a busy time for some.
But as far as bug activity is concerned, there doesn't seem to have been much going on for a few years.

I guess I will leave it for a month or two to see if I get any response from the admin eventually.

It's not my intention to point fingers at any particular person.
My question was more general though about people's experiences in contributing to projects that look dead.

I know some times admins of a launchpad page may be slow to respond, I am not an expert in launchpad matters, it is out of our users purview for the most part, there is generally only one or two for each project,
