Apple Mac and Live Image

Folks,

I have no experience of Apple Mac machines so hoping someone can just say yes or no - asking for a friend.

Can an Apple Mac computer boot to a Live Ubuntu image via a USB memory stick?

Done this numerous times on a PC but unsure if Apple Mac totally different and unable to.

Access the bios and check the boot options. Without some more info about the computer it's not a yes or no question.
