i tried mint on my laptop

I've tried linux mint with xfce but was very laggie!!!!!
I installed xubuntu.... is running sweetly!!!!!

There are slight differences in the two OSes, but pretty much anything on one can work on the other in a similar way. It just happened that for your specific install, on your specific hardware, this time, xubuntu worked better.

BTW, I don't use Mint and currently don't use Xubuntu though I did use Xubuntu for about a year previously.
