I use 4 desktops and have different configurations of browsers/ development guis, file managers etc loaded in each one. I have it set to restore session on restart but while the file managers re-load into the correct desktop the other programs only appear in the last window with the setting for that window restored, loosing the earlier ones. I'm guessing the session save/restore closed each desktop in increasing number so when it closes (say) firefox the last firefox configuration saved overwrites the one saved in the desktop before.
Its a long shot but is there a way round this other than suspend, which screws up other things in my configuration
