Much to my dismay, I was unable to get software raid working properly on 6.06. So, I had to bite the bullet and install Fedora Core 5.
Software RAID support was fully functional and configurable from the installation process which I was greateful for.
However, I have found a few good points on the Ubuntu side.
Ubuntu will - keep a local copy of deb packages, contains the right configuration files for the right versions, and at least it will use a local mirror if you setup your locale.
Fedora insists on not storing packages on the local machine, the X interface has nowhere near as many options as Ubuntu for configuration, and all in all, I am just not liking it at all.
Please, let's see some improved support for RAID in Edgy so I can bring Ubuntu back to life on my server. :)
And that's my ramble for the day :P
Cheers,
Andrew
