When I launch the installation, it asks me to select language, then I choose "Install Ubuntu Server" from the next menu and then the installer does its thing for a few minutes then it flashes "Ubuntu Server tty" a few times that doesn't look right and after that just black screen with blinking cursor in top left corner and nothing is happening. Tried it with and without internet connection.
This is on a Hyper-V VM (The problem doesn't seem to occur on Virtual Box). The iso for 18.10 live server seems to work on the same VM so I don't think it's the settings

With "noacpi" option the installer gets through the next set of menus, but doesn't see the network or the hard drive, so it's still pretty unusable
